ABOUT ME

MISSION STATEMENT

WORLD CLASS HEALTH AND PERFORMANCE SERVICES TO PATIENTS AND ATHLETES ALIKE.

My mission is to provide world class health and performance services to patients and athletes alike, using up-to-date treatment, rehabilitation, and training techniques supported by the latest scientific consensus and evidence, to ensure optimal physiological, physical, and cognitive health and function.

MY BACKGROUND

AS A FORMER ELITE ATHLETE, MY LIFE WAS OFTEN PREOCCUPIED WITH THE TUNING OF MY INSTRUMENT – MY BODY.

Constantly being immersed in concepts like athletic recovery, injury rehabilitation, and performance enhancement was a way of life for me from a very young age, whether I liked it or not. Fortunately enough, I was always fascinated and intrigued in how I could make myself a more efficient machine, how I could increase my output, how I could better manage athletic stresses and loads, and what I could do to recuperate from injuries or mitigate their chances from occurring. This all later paid off as I was able to navigate myself up the competitive ranks of soccer, until eventually being given the privilege to play professionally in the Italian 3rd Division.

After athletics, I decided to pursue an academic stream where I could learn more about the human body and how to optimize its health and function. I felt I had a lot to give to the community in this regard given my experiences, and I also felt a strong sense of purpose in being able to help others live their lives to their fullest potential, with respect to health and performance. This led me to study Kinesiology and Health Sciences at York University, and soon after, completing the Doctor of Chiropractic program at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), graduating with Summa Cum Laude and clinic honours.

I then completed the prestigious RCCSS(C) Sports Sciences Residency Program at CMCC – a 2-year specialization program that includes continued and enhanced learning of the sport sciences, as well as conducting research, accumulating over 1000 hours
of sideline sport coverage, sitting in on sport-related surgical procedures, and teaching/instructing current chiropractic students.

CURRENT ROLE

OFFICIAL THERAPIST FOR YORK UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB

Currently, I am the Official Therapist for York United Football Club, monitoring the health, fitness, performance statistics, and wellness of the athletes during training and matchdays.
METHODS AND PRINCIPLES

THE WAY I APPROACH TREATING THE PATIENT IN FRONT OF ME IS BY TREATING THE HUMAN BEING AS A WHOLE.

Although I am specific in addressing an individual’s chief complaint, I aim to encompass all 4 pillars of health in an individual’s plan of management: neuromusculoskeletal health, nutrition, sleep hygiene, and mental wellbeing. All are necessary in order for proper healing to occur and to establish an environment that is conducive to optimal health and well-being.

Practicing in a diversified chiropractic manner, I look to assess the quality of joint motion as well as the surrounding muscular, tendinous, ligamentous, and neural integrity.  Appropriate treatment and rehabilitation is then prescribed so as to get the individual back to doing the things they love as quickly and safely as possible.

I am a firm believer in the idea of elite care for all patients, not just high-level athletes.  Every patient is important to me, each having their own goals, aspirations, and expectations in how they want to live their life pain-free – be it through gardening, getting back to their job, performing high-level sports, or being able to play with their children and grandchildren.

Methods And Principles
4 PILLARS OF HEALTH

I AIM TO ENCOMPASS ALL 4 PILLARS OF HEALTH IN AN INDIVIDUAL’S PLAN OF MANAGEMENT.

Neuromusculoskeletal Health

Enhance the nervous system’s kinematic control and the capacity of soft tissue to handle a variety of different loads in different ranges of motion, so that an individual may comfortably move throughout their life as they please and without restriction.

Nutrition

Provide the cells in our body the proper resources to perform important metabolic processes, adapt, build, recover, and thrive while still protecting from oxidative and mechanical stresses.

Sleep and Circadian Rhythm

Establishing the foundation of recovery and a plethora of other benefits, including immune function, hormonal balance, positive mood, mental acuity, and drive.

Mental Wellbeing

Empowering the mind with a strong sense of self, tranquility, and purpose.
